On Saturday, thousands of Jordanians rallied near the Israeli Embassy in Amman to show sympathy with Gaza, as reported by Anadolu. Protesters gathered at the embassy near the Kaluti Mosque in Rabia for the sixth day.
The marchers demanded the closure of the Israeli Embassy and the repudiation of the peace accord with Tel Aviv, echoing earlier protests. Supporting Palestine and the struggle, participants chanted, “Remove the military from the borders … the borders of the West Bank.”
Protesters held banners with statements condemning the Israeli attack, including “The blood of martyrs asks my blood” How did you accept the peaceful solution?” boosting their justice demands.
Medical professionals protested in solidarity with Gaza Strip residents. They also requested the release of Al-Shifa Hospital director Mohammad Abu Selmiyah, imprisoned by the Israeli army.
On November 1, the Jordanian government withdrew its ambassador from Tel Aviv in reaction to the protesters’ fervour. It also refused to repatriate the Israeli ambassador to Amman, reaffirming its support for Palestine.
Jordanian demonstrators’ unity and commitment showed their support with Gaza and the continued fight for justice.
