Are you a driven 14–24-year-old leader who is dedicated to promoting children’s rights and elevating the voices of young people? For the 2024–2025 term, join the prestigious UNICEF USA National Youth Council! As a council member, you will work directly with UNICEF personnel, support programmes aimed at engaging young people, and promote noticeable advancements in the welfare of children across the country.
Key Responsibilities:
- Elevate Youth Voice: Represent UNICEF USA at local and national events, and create engaging social media content.
- Support Youth & Volunteer Programs: Provide valuable feedback on engaging young people in social justice work and inform strategic initiatives and campaigns.
- Educate and Motivate: Lead issue-specific projects to educate and inform youth, volunteers, and staff, and amplify youth voices through media and thought pieces.
- Build Community: Foster relationships with fellow council members, Youth Representatives, and UNICEF Clubs, manage the Slack community, and host digital conversations with students.
Commitment:
- Serve a one-year term from August 1, 2024, to May 30, 2025, with the option to re-apply.
- Dedicate 3-5 hours per week to council-related projects, meetings, training, and activities.
- Attend weekly meetings on Tuesdays, 7:30-8:30 PM EST, and participate in both in-person and virtual gatherings/training.
- Availability for summer and fall training sessions.
