Banting Postdoctoral Fellowships Program in Canada 2024-2025

The goal of the Banting Postdoctoral Fellowships Program for 2024–2025 is to maintain the best academics and researchers in Canada by offering financial support to deserving candidates who excel in both fields. The Banting Fellowship, which is available to academics from all around the country, aims to develop postdoctoral researchers’ leadership skills and mould them into future leaders in the field of research.

Three Canadian organisations—the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC), the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC), and the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR)—are each given 70 fellowships annually as part of the Vanier Banting Fellowship Program. The Vanier Banting Secretariat oversees daily program operations, but these federal authorities are in charge of choosing candidates.

The Banting International Fellowships Program, which is open to both domestic and foreign researchers, provides $70,000 a year for a two-year period. Applicants are directly nominated by their host schools. The Banting Fellowship is notably selective and emphasizes alignment and cooperation between postdoctoral scientists and their host universities. The program makes sure that the priorities of the host university are met by the scholars’ research, and the host institution processes the applications in line with that alignment.

Applications from researchers who demonstrate a dedication to creativity and a sustainable research ecosystem are given priority for the Banting Fellowships in Canada. Based on the values of inclusion, diversity, and equity, the program provides equal opportunity to students from both domestic and foreign universities. The technical requirements listed below should be carefully considered by researchers in order to be considered for this distinguished fellowship.
