Lagos State Lateef Jakande Fellowship Program 2024 | Fully Funded

Applications for the Lagos State Lateef Jakande Fellowship Program 2024 are now being accepted. It gives young Nigerian graduates leadership and employment chances and is fully supported for a year. Participants participate in policy tours, talk with leaders, and acquire experience in government. The Lagos State Fellowship Program aims to change the lives of young Nigerians who want to change the game for their generation by offering fully funded chances for a year. Together with roundtable talks with eminent figures from the public and commercial sectors, it provides direct knowledge of state-level governance procedures. Participants also take part in foreign and domestic policy excursions. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, the governor of Lagos State, established the one-year Lateef Jakande Fellowship Program, which offers life-changing chances to young Nigerians who want to change the world. By teaching the necessary skills for meaningful public service and encouraging the principles of purposeful leadership through mentoring and hands-on training, it seeks to develop future leaders.

Eligibility criteria:

  • possess Nigerian nationality
  • Have worked for a minimum of three years
  • Be under 35 years old and possess a bachelor’s degree or above
  • possess a letter of exemption or have finished the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program

Benefits:

  • Work Experience: After six months in the program, fellows will rotately shadow members of the Lagos State Cabinet.
  • Activities like the Brown-Bag Series, Fireside Chat, Leadership Seminar, Personalized Coaching, and Constant Multi-Source Feedback are examples of leadership development.
  • Community Service: Fellows will work on a high-impact, community-transforming leadership initiative of their own choosing. Furthermore, each year they will work together on a significant people-centered project that will improve the lives of Lagosians and be finished in a year.
  • Fellowship Network: By providing structured and informal peer-to-peer coaching and learning opportunities, the program cultivates a strong network of future youth leaders. It seeks to develop social consciousness, strengthen ties between participants, and advance national integration.
