Innovation and Technology Scholarship 2024 (Fully Funded)

Selected Mastercard Foundation Scholars can enrol in a nine-month intense academic and hands-on training program in artificial intelligence (AI) and business offered by Arizona State University and the Mastercard Foundation. The program seeks to develop students’ technical expertise, leadership, and entrepreneurial spirit so they may become competent AI leaders who can tackle issues in Africa and around the world. For those accepted for the 2024–2025 academic year, there are five scholarships available that will pay for all living expenses, tuition, and comprehensive support. In addition to receiving financial aid, Arizona State University’s Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program offers a range of extracurricular activities, a leadership curriculum, individualised mentorship, and other events and programming. Women, refugees, internally displaced people, and those with disabilities are especially urged to apply. Eligibility Criteria:

  • To be admitted to their preferred degree program, candidates must fulfil all academic prerequisites, which may include proving their English language skills.
  • Applicants must be nationals of an African nation and demonstrate a dedication to moral leadership and community service.
  • Applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 33 on the application deadline.
  • Applicants must demonstrate a track record of community service and leadership.
  • Applicants must have outstanding academic records and goals above their means.
  • Candidates must have completed at least four years of coursework to earn an undergraduate degree.
  • Before August 2024, candidates cannot have started or finished any other graduate or master’s degree.
  • Applicants have to be able to live in Phoenix, Arizona for the full time of the program.
  • Strong foundations in computer science, statistics, and mathematics are encouraged by candidates.
