Traineeships in the European Parliament 2024-25 (Funded)

Fantastic Traineeship Possibilities Hold on! Have you ever thought about working as an intern in the European Parliament? The Traineeships in the European Parliament 2024–25 program is currently accepting applications. Traineeships with Members of the European Parliament and Schuman Traineeships (at the Secretariat) are the two types of traineeships that the European Parliament offers. The European Parliament chooses about eight hundred Schuman trainees annually. Students from outside of Europe can also take advantage of this opportunity.

Candidates must have a university degree or qualification in order to apply. The training lasts for five months, and candidates need to be at least eighteen. There is no maximum age for applicants. Types of Traineeships in the European Parliament

  • Schuman Traineeships (Internships within the Secretariat)
  • Traineeships with Members of the European Parliament

Schuman traineeships:

Placements at the Secretariat are available for the Schuman Traineeship at the European Parliament’s official headquarters in Brussels, Luxembourg, and Strasbourg, as well as at its Liaison Offices in Member States. It provides attendees with insightful knowledge on how the European Parliament and other EU institutions operate. A wide range of topics are covered by these traineeships, including administration, finance, law, multilingualism, infrastructure and logistics, IT, and communication.

Eligibility Criteria for Schuman traineeships:

  • The minimum age requirement for applicants is 18, with no greater age limit.
  • They have to be citizens of an EU member state or a nation that is applying to join the EU as a candidate.
  • Foreign nationals may also be eligible for a limited number of traineeships.
  • Applicants must hold a university-level diploma or have finished at least three years of college, earning a bachelor’s or master’s degree.

European Parliament Traineeships:

At the European Parliament’s offices in Brussels or Strasbourg, members of the European Parliament (MEPs) may provide paid traineeships. Interacting with the European Parliament provides insightful knowledge on MEPs’ working practices.

Eligibility Criteria for European Parliament Traineeships:

  • The minimum age requirement for applicants is 18, and there is no upper age limit.
  • They have to be citizens of an EU member state or a nation that is applying to join the EU as a candidate.
  • Members might think about providing traineeships to people from developing nations.
  • Applicants must have finished three years of college, earning a bachelor’s or master’s degree or a diploma from an institution of higher learning.

Benefits:

  • Each trainee will receive a monthly grant to cover living expenses.
  • A travel allowance of EUR 300 per trainee will be provided.

Required Documents:

  • A copy of your university-level diploma must be submitted.
  • You must present a copy of a current passport or identity card.
  • It is required that you provide a copy of your criminal record, obtained no more than six months prior to the commencement of your traineeship.
