Eligibility Criteria:

  • must be a local or foreign student enrolled in Deakin University’s research program or planning to enroll in one.
  • should not earn more than 75% of the scholarship stipend from any other source.
  • must fulfill the prerequisites for admission to Deakin’s Higher Degrees by Research (HDR) program.
  • At least four years of tertiary (higher) education should have been completed.
  • must have completed the research portion of their prior studies with at least 80% or higher.

Benefits:

Annual Stipend: $35,550 (tax-free) for 2025

Relocation Allowance:

  • $500 for single students
  • $1,500 for students with families relocating from interstate or overseas

Health Coverage: Single Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) provided for international students

Tuition Fee Offset:

  • Up to 4 years for PhD candidates
  • Up to 2 years for Master’s by research students
