While Deakin University funds the Deakin University Postgraduate Research Scholarship (DUPR), the Australian Government funds the Research Training Program (RTP). Both are intended to help graduate researchers by paying for tuition and living expenses so that students can concentrate entirely on their work. Both programs have a rigorous, merit-based selection process, and only the most deserving applicants are given RTP Scholarships.

Eligibility Criteria:

must be a local or foreign student enrolled in Deakin University’s research program or planning to enroll in one.
should not earn more than 75% of the scholarship stipend from any other source.
must fulfill the prerequisites for admission to Deakin’s Higher Degrees by Research (HDR) program.
At least four years of tertiary (higher) education should have been completed.
must have completed the research portion of their prior studies with at least 80% or higher.
