Czech Republic Government Scholarship 2026/27 (Fully Funded)

Applications are now open for the Czech Republic Government Scholarship for the 2026/27 academic year. This fully funded program is offered to students from developing countries to pursue Master’s or PhD degrees at Czech public universities. The Czech Republic, known for its rich history, stunning architecture, and vibrant capital city, Prague, is a member of the European Union, allowing students to travel freely across other EU nations. Since the 1950s, over 20,000 international students have completed their studies in the country through this scholarship program. Opportunities are available for programs taught in both English and Czech, with funding also covering a one-year Czech language preparatory course. More information is provided below.

Eligibility Criteria :

  • The following nations are eligible: Ethiopia, Nigeria, Rwanda, Zambia, Cambodia, Sri Lanka, Guatemala, Jordan, Georgia, Ukraine, Belarus (democratic forces), and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Program Requirements for Masters:

  • Only nationals of the aforementioned nations may enter.
  • Candidates must be bachelor’s degree holders.

Program Requirements for PhDs:

  • Candidates must be citizens of the aforementioned qualifying nations.
  • Both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree are required.

Not eligible:

  • No one from any other nation is eligible.
  • Citizens of the Czech Republic and the EU are not eligible to apply.

Benefits :

Study expenses: The scholarship covers all of them.

Stipend per Month:

  • CZK 16,000 for students pursuing master’s degrees.
  • CZK 17,000 for those pursuing PhDs.

Living Costs:

  • The monthly stipend is used by scholarship recipients to pay for their own housing, meals, and public transportation.

Travel Costs:

  • The student or the nominating organization is responsible for covering the cost of travel to and from the Czech Republic.
