Global Talent Scholarship 2025 Ireland (Fully Funded)

Research Ireland launched the coveted Global Talent Ireland 2025 program to entice outstanding researchers from throughout the globe to pursue their academic careers in Ireland. The program offers substantial financing packages to support researchers’ relocation, team building, and enhancing Ireland’s standing as a research and innovation hub.

With the goal of promoting influential research and developing talent across disciplines, Science Foundation Ireland (SFI) and the Irish Research Council (IRC) merged to form Research Ireland in 2024. To help achieve this goal, Global Talent Ireland 2025 provides two important funding sources: Rising Stars, which provides funding to mid-career scholars that exhibit quality, independence, and leadership potential and are five to fifteen years post-PhD;& Research Leaders, which is intended for professors and senior academics who have been in academia for more than sixteen years after receiving their PhD and who are known throughout the world for their innovative work and strategic leadership.

The program is available in all fields under Research Ireland’s purview, and applicants must possess a PhD or an equivalent doctoral degree. The social sciences, humanities, health and life sciences, engineering, science, and multidisciplinary research that tackles global issues are among the fields. In addition to helping individual researchers, this program helps Ireland develop a thriving, globally integrated research environment.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • At the time of application, you must be working outside of Ireland.
  • Rising Stars: Possess a PhD from 2010–2020, demonstrate your independence, superiority in research, and capacity for leadership.
  • Research Leaders: Possess a PhD from before 2009, be employed as a full professor or senior academic, be well-known throughout the world, and have a track record of success.
