Research Ireland launched the coveted Global Talent Ireland 2025 program to entice outstanding researchers from throughout the globe to pursue their academic careers in Ireland. With the goal of promoting influential research and developing talent across disciplines, Science Foundation Ireland (SFI) and the Irish Research Council (IRC) merged to form Research Ireland in 2024. To help achieve this goal, Global Talent Ireland 2025 provides two important funding sources: Rising Stars, which provides funding to mid-career scholars that exhibit quality, independence, and leadership potential and are five to fifteen years post-PhD;& Research Leaders, which is intended for professors and senior academics who have been in academia for more than sixteen years after receiving their PhD and who are known throughout the world for their innovative work and strategic leadership.
