DAAD Graduate School Scholarship Programme (GSSP) in Germany 2026 (University of Leipzig) | Fully Funded

The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and the University of Leipzig are partnering to provide international students with fully financed DAAD Graduate School Scholarships. For a maximum of 48 months, the Leipzig DAAD Graduate School Scholarship Programme (GSSP) offers a €1,300 monthly stipend that includes research allowances, health insurance, and liability coverage.

Under this initiative, the Graduate School Global and Area Studies (GSGAS) is accepting applications for two PhD scholarships. Research on regional, transregional, transnational, and global concerns in both historical and modern contexts is made possible by GSGAS’s interdisciplinary approach.

Thesis projects should use historical or social scientific viewpoints to solve global issues.

Eligibility Criteria :

  • International candidates who haven’t lived in Germany for more than 15 months are required.
  • A Master’s degree, or its equivalent, earned within the previous six years is required.
  • must exhibit a keen interest in transregional, transnational, or global studies with a focus on issues including decolonization, globalization, migration, pandemics, crises, and revolutions.
  • No more than six years before the application date, the final Master’s test must have been finished.

Germany is the host nation.
