Humboldt Research Fellowship 2026 Germany (Fully Funded)

The Alexander von Humboldt Foundation is currently accepting applications for the fully funded Humboldt Research Fellowship 2026 in Germany. With the help of a local academic host, this esteemed fellowship enables foreign scholars to carry out cutting-edge research at any German university or research facility of their choosing.

Depending on the goals and extent of the research endeavor, the fellowship can be awarded for a period of six to twenty-four months. It seeks to promote global academic cooperation and exchange and accepts applications from academics worldwide, with the exception of Brazil and Germany. About 700 Humboldt Research Fellowships are given out annually to deserving scientists from a variety of fields.

A monthly stipend, health and medical insurance, round-trip airfare, family allowances, and supplementary funds for living expenses and research are all part of the full financial support that fellows get. In addition to financial aid, the program provides access to the Humboldt Foundation’s vast worldwide research network, which links top researchers from different continents, and mentorship through a host professor in Germany.

After completing the program, fellows become part of a prestigious global network of Humboldt graduates and are granted access to ongoing financing support, networking opportunities, and cooperative projects, which guarantees their academic and professional development long after the fellowship period is over.
