Graduate students can attend the IHE Delft Institute for Water Education in the Netherlands with full funding thanks to the IHE Delft Rotary Scholarships. For all chosen applicants, the 2026 UNESCO IHE Delft Rotary Scholarship provides full tuition, living expenses, travel and visa costs, and health insurance. This post discusses the scholarship’s benefits, qualifying requirements, required documentation, and the application process.
The goal of these scholarships is to foster solid partnerships between Rotarians and qualified water and sanitation experts across the globe. Approximately 150 scholarships have been given out since the relationship started in 2012. The initiative supports worldwide efforts to address water and sanitation concerns by training people who can establish sustainable solutions in developing and emerging countries.
Eligibility Criteria :
- Candidates must first be accepted into one of the following tracks for the IHE Delft MSc Program in Water and Sustainable Development:
- Water and Health
- Water, Food and Energy
- Water Resources and Ecosystems Health
- Water Hazards, Risks and Climate
- Local Rotarians conduct interviews and select qualified candidates from their region who have already been admitted to the program.
- If a candidate is found suitable, the sponsoring Rotary Club, together with the applicant, submits a complete scholarship application the joint Rotary/IHE Delft selection committee. Additionally, copies are forwarded to the chair of the district Rotary Foundation and the district governor.
- Once a scholarship is awarded, the sponsoring Rotary Club maintains continued touch with the scholar during their studies.
- Funding for selected scholars is administered through Rotary’s Global Grant system.
Netherlands is the host nation.
