Purdue University Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) | Fully Funded

A fully funded 11-week summer research experience is available to undergraduate students in the USA through the Purdue University Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) 2026. SURF enables participants to do research at Purdue’s West Lafayette or Indianapolis campus under the supervision of seasoned academics, graduate students, or postdoctoral mentors. It is open to students worldwide, including US nationals. The program helps students improve their technical and communication abilities through weekly workshops and seminars for professional growth. After completing the program, fellows present their research at a symposium and receive a $6,500 biweekly stipend. For prospective researchers, SURF offers a special chance for professional advancement, research experience, and mentoring. Applications are now being accepted.

Eligibility Criteria :

  • be a full-time undergraduate student at the moment.
  • pursuing a bachelor’s degree at any foreign university, Purdue University, or another US university.
  • By the time of the 2026 SURF application, have finished at least one academic quarter or semester.
  • Participate in the Purdue SURF 2026 program for the first time because it is a one-time fellowship.
  • Keep your cumulative GPA at or above 2.8/4.0.
  • For the term of the fellowship, be available to fully engage in all program activities.
  • To participate, foreign applicants need to secure a J-1 visa.
