About 100 internships are offered by NIMS to both domestic and foreign students each year. Giving trainees practical technical and research experience in materials science and related fields is the program’s main goal.

Eligibility Criteria:
- International students of all nationalities are eligible for the NIMS Internship.
- Applications are accepted from those pursuing bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees.
- Students who are presently enrolled at Japanese universities are eligible to apply.
- This internship is also available to students attending universities outside of Japan.
