Friedrich Ebert Stiftung Scholarships 2026 | Fully Funded

Applications are now open for the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung Scholarship 2026–2027 in Germany. This fully funded scholarship supports undergraduate and postgraduate students who wish to study in Germany. The scholarship provides a monthly stipend of up to €1,500, along with health insurance coverage and, where applicable, family and childcare allowances. Each year, up to 40 outstanding students are selected based on academic or artistic excellence and a strong commitment to the values of social democracy. In addition to financial support, recipients benefit from a comprehensive seminar program designed to enhance academic abilities, leadership skills, and social competence.

Eligibility Criteria :

  • Languages Required: German or English
  • Talented students from Africa, Asia, Latin America, and Eastern Europe are eligible.
  • Candidates must exhibit a high level of academic or career potential.
  • must be enrolled in or admitted to a German state or state-recognized higher education institution.
  • Even if the curriculum is taught in English, competency in German is necessary (DSH-2, TestDaF level 4, or Goethe Institute C1).
  • Candidates ought to demonstrate a strong dedication to social democratic principles.
  • Outstanding academic achievement in school and prior research

There are up to 40 scholarships available.

Benefits :

  • EUR 750 monthly stipend for programs leading to a bachelor’s, diploma, master’s, or state examination
  • A monthly cash award of EUR 992 is given to master’s students, and their health insurance is entirely paid.
  • Scholarship recipients who have children are entitled to an extra EUR 160 each month.
  • In addition to a monthly payment for statutory health insurance, doctoral applicants receive EUR 1,500.
  • Scholars with children receive a family allowance of EUR 276, and health insurance costs are paid.
