The Government of Hungary has opened applications for the 2026 Hungary Bilateral State Scholarship. This fully funded scholarship supports international students pursuing undergraduate and postgraduate degrees at accredited Hungarian higher education institutions. It covers full tuition fees and provides a living stipend of approximately €4,680.
Managed by the Tempus Public Foundation with financial support from the Hungarian Government, the scholarship offers an excellent opportunity to study in Hungary. It is available for bachelor’s, master’s, one-tier master’s, and doctoral programs in any field of study or arts.
This opportunity is open to foreign high school and higher education graduates who wish to gain advanced knowledge and academic experience through full-degree studies in Hungary.
Eligibility Criteria :
- be foreign nationals with a recognized higher education degree or a certificate of secondary school completion.
- Meet the requirements for admission to the chosen Hungarian university, including passing any necessary entrance exams.
- In order to be admitted to a Hungarian doctorate school, candidates must have a master’s degree.
- To promote cultural integration and learning, applicants to programs taught in languages other than Hungarian must take Hungarian language and culture courses.
Hungary is the host nation.

- Doctoral students pay HUF 140,000 (about €390) a month.
- HUF 43,700 per month (about €120) for non-doctoral students

- Health insurance is offered in compliance with Hungarian laws.
- Cultural Integration: Students enrolling in non-Hungarian-taught programs must take Hungarian language and culture courses.
