The Berlin Graduate School of Ancient Studies (BerGSAS) offers fully financed PhD scholarships for international students from October 2026 to September 2030. Apply now for the esteemed DAAD Graduate School Scholarship Program (GSSP). The program, which is supported by the DAAD and held at two of Germany’s top universities, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and Freie Universität Berlin, is intended to develop exceptional young researchers in the fields of archaeology, ancient studies, philology, theology, and allied disciplines.

Ancient texts, philology, linguistics, and digital humanities are the main topics of the Ancient Languages and Texts (ALT) track. Candidates with backgrounds in ancient history, late antiquity, early medieval studies, Greek and Latin languages, Coptic and ancient oriental languages, Egyptology, Iranian studies, Jewish studies, Indo-European linguistics, theology, religious studies, and Roman law are all encouraged to apply.

The study of visual culture, image communication, and archaeological material is the focus of the Ancient Objects and Visual Studies (AOViS) curriculum. Candidates with expertise in ancient oriental studies, classical, Near Eastern, prehistoric archaeology, Egyptology, and Northeast African archaeology should apply.

Geostatistical techniques, architectural studies, and landscape archaeology are all explored in the Landscape Archaeology and Architecture (LAA) curriculum. Students working in Egyptology with an emphasis on landscapes as well as those with backgrounds in classical, Near Eastern, or prehistoric archaeology are welcome to apply.

I can also modify it for a scholarship announcement post, shorten it, or make it more formal if you’d like.
