University of Hong Kong Summer Internship Program 2026 – Fully Funded

For undergraduate and graduate students worldwide, the University of Hong Kong (HKU) Summer Internship 2026 is a fully sponsored research program. A 10-week intensive research training program at one of Asia’s leading research universities will be awarded $20,000 to chosen individuals.

Eligibility Criteria :

  • Be an exceptional third or fourth-year undergraduate student with a CGPA of 3.6 or higher.
  • Outstanding Master’s students with a Bachelor’s degree with First Class Honors

  • Experience with pertinent research
  • High level of English competence

Benefits of the scholarship include $56,350 annually, a $20,000 award, travel expenses, and lodging.

Language Requirement: IELTS is not necessary.

Benefits :

  • One-on-One Mentorship: Participants will organize and carry out a research project under the guidance of a distinguished HKU professor. The program office helps match mentors according to priorities and areas of interest in research.
  • Scholarship Award: After completing the program successfully, each participant gets HK$10,000.
  • Financial Support: Up to HK$5,000 in airfare reimbursement and HK$5,000 in university housing reimbursement (only students and residents of Hong Kong are eligible for housing support).
  • Prizes and Awards: Additional recognition and awards will be given to the program’s top performers.
  • A conditional offer to pursue a PhD at HKU with a package up to HK$439,500 (US$56,350) for the first year and HK$422,000 (US$54,110) for following years is available to outstanding participants in the HKU Presidential PhD Scholarship.
