Eligibility Criteria:
- Candidates must have finished all PhD requirements by a certain date or have their PhD conferred on or after that date.
- must be within two years after receiving their PhD or be in their final year of study.
- For those applying in 2025 (fellowship starting in 2026):
- The PhD must be awarded before January 1, 2024, at the latest, or
- The deadline for finishing all PhD requirements is December 31, 2026.
- must exhibit outstanding scholastic performance and promising research abilities.
- For the term of the fellowship, the recipient must be prepared to move to Western Australia.

Benefits:
- Pay: Level A Step 8 plus 17% superannuation (for example, AUD $108,362 at the University of Western Australia in 2025).
- Accommodation Allowance (taxable): AUD $25,116 annually.
- Research & Travel Allowance: A one-time payment of AUD $12,000 to pay for conference travel, authorized research expenses, and overseas research visits.
- International and interstate fellows are eligible for a relocation allowance, which includes an economy flight to Perth.
