European University Institute Traineeships 2026-27, Italy (Paid)

For driven people with a variety of educational and professional backgrounds, the European University Institute (EUI) traineeships provide fascinating prospects. In a multicultural, multilingual setting, EUI offers paid (one year) and unpaid (up to three months) traineeships that include mentorship, hands-on training, and participation in existing projects. A €1,540 monthly stipend is given to paid trainees, and those from outside Florence may additionally receive reimbursement for their relocation costs.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Open to nationals of EU Member States and candidate countries under the pre-accession strategy
  • Trainees must have good command of English (minimum CEFR level B2) and working knowledge of another EU language
  • A limited number of applicants from non-EU countries may be considered, depending on agreements and available resources
  • Ukrainian nationals are eligible to apply for this European traineeship

For paid traineeships:

  • Applicants must hold a completed first-cycle university degree (or equivalent) by the application deadline
  • The degree must meet national qualification standards of the issuing country
  • The last university degree should have been obtained within the past three years, unless currently pursuing further studies

For unpaid traineeships:

  • Candidates must be enrolled in a recognized university degree program
  • An inter-institutional agreement between the applicant’s home university/organization and the EUI is required
