Applications are now open for the Lee Kong Chian Research Fellowship 2026. This fully funded, six-month residential program is open to both Singaporean and international applicants. Selected fellows will be based at the Lee Kong Chian Reference Library under the National Library Board, Singapore.
The fellowship welcomes curators, historians, academics, and independent researchers with proven achievements in their respective fields. Candidates pursuing doctoral, postdoctoral, or advanced research are also encouraged to apply.
There is no application fee, and the fellowship covers airfare, accommodation, a stipend, and a relocation allowance, providing comprehensive support for participants throughout the program.
Eligibility Criteria :
- Both domestic and foreign candidates are welcome to apply.
- Applicants who satisfy the necessary qualifying requirements are welcome to apply for the fellowship.
- Candidates must be capable of researching subjects associated with the Library’s holdings.
- Research focus should highlight and exploit the Library’s specific resources
Singapore is the host nation.

Benefits :
- A monthly stipend of S$3,500 is provided for living expenses, local transportation, and photocopying.
