Australian National University RTP Scholarship 2026 – Fully Funded

The Commonwealth Department of Education and Training funds universities to give scholarships to both domestic and foreign students enrolled in higher degree research programs each year.

The Australian National University RTP Scholarship, the University Research Scholarship, and a few more centrally administered scholarships are among the two yearly central scholarship rounds that ANU now holds.

Scholarships are given to the top-ranked candidates based on a competitive ranking process, provided they demonstrate they meet merit-based selection criteria, have a qualified supervisor, and have space and resources available in a field of study that is in line with ANU’s research strategy.

Eligibility Criteria :

  • Both domestic and foreign students are welcome to apply.
  • must submit an application for a Master’s or PhD program in Higher Degree Research (HDR).
  • must fulfill the program’s admission requirements.
  • must meet the university’s requirements for English language competency.

Scholarships for postgraduate, master’s, and doctoral studies

All nations are eligible to apply.

Benefits: $39,069 stipend and fully funded scholarship; no IELTS requirement

Benefits :

  • The Australian Government Research Training Programme (AGRTP) has an annual value of $39,069.
  • Duration of Stipend: Up to three years, with potential extensions:
  • Standard 6-month extension
  • Extra six-month extension (based on eligibility requirements)
  • Relocation Assistance: Removal and travel expenses for students relocating to Canberra
  • Support for Thesis: Thesis allowance given
  • Family Support: Allowance for dependent children (for overseas students)
  • Benefits of Leave: Paid parental, maternity, and medical leave
