This opportunity is provided by Dr. Jeff Plumlee’s Fisheries Ecology and Ecosystem Dynamics (FEED) Lab at Louisiana State University. In order to investigate the ecological links of important fishing species and the human aspects of fisheries, students will work with state agencies, fishermen, and academic partners.
In addition to opportunities to present findings to stakeholders, the program offers practical instruction in a variety of research techniques, data collection, and analysis.
Eligibility Criteria :
- possess an M.S. in biology, ecology, fisheries/aquatic science, or a closely similar field (other relevant disciplines may also be accepted).
- Exhibit excellent communication abilities both in writing and speaking.
- possess formal training in biostatistics and a fundamental understanding of R programming.
