For the 2026 European Union TESIECS Scholarships, the University of Johannesburg is accepting applications from qualified African applicants. Full tuition, travel expenses, lodging, and living (subsistence) allowances are all covered by this fully financed Intra-Africa Mobility program. The University of Johannesburg, University of Zimbabwe, University of the Western Cape, University of Botswana, and Namibia University of Science and Technology collaborate on TESIECS (Towards Enhancing Sustainable and Innovative Environmental Change Solutions), with funding from the European Union and technical assistance from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. In order to prepare early-career researchers and academic staff for contemporary research and leadership in a global academic setting, the curriculum also includes a two-week intensive workshop held at the University of Johannesburg.
Eligibility Criteria :
- must be an African citizen with a current passport.
- They must be ready and willing to move from their current location of employment or education, or from their home country.
- must be a permanent and active member of the technical, administrative, or academic staff.
- A SAQA Certificate is required for the assessment of foreign qualifications for applicants seeking degrees or recognized programs at the University of Johannesburg or the University of the Western Cape.

Countries in Africa are eligible.
Benefits include a fully funded scholarship, a living stipend, lodging, and travel costs.
IELTS is not necessary for English proficiency.
