Japan METI Internship Program 2026 | Fully Funded    

The Government of Japan METI Internship 2026, a fully financed opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students globally, particularly from poor nations, is now accepting applications. Participants in this six-week internship get a monthly salary of 90,000 yen, which also covers lodging, travel, and equipment costs. The program, which is run by Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), gives interns real experience working with Japanese businesses while also exposing them to the world of employment. The internship seeks to enlist about 200 participants and is offered twice a year (summer and winter). By providing chances to establish professional networks and possibly find job in Japan after graduation, it also improves career possibilities.

Eligibility Criteria :

  • must support the internationalization of Japanese businesses and concur with the program’s goals.
  • must be a citizen of a nation or area that qualifies.
  • Proficiency in either English or Japanese (JLPT N3 or higher) is required.
  • must be between the ages of 18 and 40 on August 1, 2026.
  • A letter of recommendation from their university or faculty and a certificate of enrollment are required.
  • Graduates are required to turn in a letter of recommendation from their university or other institution along with their degree certificate.
  • must be able to present documentation of their credentials (e.g., IELTS, TOEIC, TOEFL, CEFR, JLPT).
  • must be totally dedicated to the internship and adhere to the JIP office’s program timetable.
  • must fulfill any further conditions that the host company specifies.
