Queen’s University Belfast FORESIGHTERS Scholarship 2026 in the UK | Fully Funded

The Queen’s University Belfast FORESIGHTERS Scholarship 2026/27 offers prospective researchers in the UK a fully supported PhD opportunity. Twenty Early-Stage Researchers (ESRs) will be chosen to do interdisciplinary PhD research at Queen’s University Belfast through the FORESIGHTERS Doctoral Training Program. The program, which is funded by the Northern Ireland Department for the Economy and the European Union, offers complete tuition coverage, an annual pay package of up to £37,734, and additional assistance for travel and research. Future-Oriented Skills and Innovation for Governance, or FORESIGHTERS, focuses on important topics like creativity, cities, technology, energy, and health. Through advanced training, possibilities for international collaboration, and interaction with a wide range of non-academic partners, the program prepares future research leaders.

Eligibility Criteria :

  • Candidates must either have a Master’s degree or a Bachelor’s degree equal to a UK Upper Second-Class Honours (2:1).
  • Strong motivation and outstanding potential for research on futures studies and innovation should be exhibited by candidates.
  • By the application deadline of June 29, 2026, candidates cannot have earned a doctorate.
  • According to the MSCA mobility regulation, candidates must have spent more than 12 months living, working, or studying in the UK in the 36 months prior to the application deadline.
  • Before beginning their employment at Queen’s University Belfast and the MSCA-funded program, successful candidates must secure the required authorization to reside and work in the United Kingdom.

The United Kingdom is the host country.

Benefits of the scholarship include full tuition reimbursement, an annual stipend of up to £37,734, a family allowance of £6,600, a personal computer, and money for travel and research.

English Language Requirement: The scholarship application does not require an IELTS score (subject to university admission standards).
