For both domestic and foreign students in the UK, the Bournemouth University Scholarship 2026 provides a fully financed PhD studentship. The goal of this study is to assess the results of river reconnection initiatives for migratory fish species using genetic and genomic techniques. Successful candidates will examine the ecological and genetic responses of vulnerable species, such as Atlantic salmon, European eels, sea lampreys, and European shads, using the River Severn basin as a case study. Eligibility Criteria :
- International, EU, and UK students are welcome.

- Preferred Requirements

- practical knowledge of PCR methods, DNA extraction, and DNA analysis procedures.
- Although not necessary, prior experience preparing DNA libraries, especially for environmental DNA (eDNA) research, is beneficial.
