Brad Pitt’s Daughter Remove Pitt from Her Name

Published:

Brad Pitt’s 18-year-old daughter, Shiloh, has decided to remove “Pitt” from her last name. Previously known as Shiloh Jolie-Pitt, she filed to change her name to Shiloh Jolie on her 18th birthday, March 27.

Pitt’s Reaction

Brad Pitt is reportedly upset about Shiloh’s decision. A source close to him shared that he feels deeply saddened by this move, as Shiloh’s birth brought him immense joy. He always wanted a daughter and loves his children dearly, but the separation has been hard on him.

Family Background

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie share six children. Their relationship began on the set of *Mr. & Mrs. Smith* in 2005, while Pitt was still married to Jennifer Aniston. The couple, often referred to as “Brangelina,” married in 2014 at Château Miraval, a property they bought together. They separated in 2016, and their divorce was finalized in 2019.

Other Children Distancing

Shiloh isn’t the only child distancing herself from Pitt. Vivienne, 15, is listed as “Vivienne Jolie” in a musical produced by Jolie. Zahara, 19, introduced herself as “Zahara Marley Jolie” in a university sorority video. However, Shiloh is the only one to legally change her name.

Possible Reasons

The exact reason for Shiloh’s decision hasn’t been confirmed, but it might be related to the legal battles between Jolie and Pitt. In 2016, Jolie wanted to sell her shares of their Italian winery, Château Miraval, but negotiations stalled because Pitt insisted on an NDA that would prevent her from discussing his alleged abuse. Jolie accused Pitt of physical and emotional abuse during a flight from France to California, claiming he choked one child, struck another, and grabbed her by the head.

Legal Complications

Recently, a judge ruled that Jolie must provide all NDAs related to her ownership of Château Miraval. Jolie sold her shares despite Pitt’s refusal to allow it without signing an NDA. In April, Jolie filed a motion to release communications from Pitt’s legal team requiring her to sign an “expansive” NDA before selling her shares. Now, Jolie must submit these NDAs within 60 days, and her lawyer stated they are willing to comply, which could lead to more revelations about Pitt’s alleged abuse.
