Various reports state that Kylian Mbappe has informed Paris Saint-Germain that he plans to quit the team at the end of the current campaign. The 25-year-old’s contract expires in the summer, and Real Madrid, the top team in La Liga, has been heavily linked to him. After joining PSG in September 2017 after leaving AS Monaco, Mbappe has won five ligue 1 titles with the team and scored 243 goals in 290 appearances but missing the golden prize of winning the champions league which was the project of PSG. The Ligue 1 winners’ contract with Mbappe expires on June 30, and Real Madrid has long been connected to the 25-year-old.
Since moving from Monaco to Paris in September 2017, the France international has made 290 appearances, scoring 243 goals and earning five league titles. With Mbappe’s annual salary of €200 million, which he elected to take in 2022 when he was also supposed to leave PSG for free, PSG is predicted to save an incredible €200 million annually, which they will use to put back into their young programme.
With a market value of €180 million, Mbappe is currently among the most expensive players on the planet (with Haaland and Jude Bellingham), according to Transfer Market.
Although reports in recent days indicate Premier League giants Liverpool and Arsenal are interested in signing Mbappe in the summer, Real Madrid is still the front-runner to sign the superstar.
