PhD candidates from poor nations are eligible to apply for fellowships through the World Bank’s Robert S. McNamara Fellowship Program. These fellowships provide funding for innovative, development-related PhD studies, enabling participants to work with a study adviser at a partner organization overseas for a period of six to ten months while conducting research.
Eligibility Criteria:
- MA graduates or those presently enrolled in a PhD program in economics or a closely related discipline.
- Age restriction: By June 30 of the fellowship start year, a person must be older than 35.
- Must be prepared to move to Washington, D.C. for the term of the fellowship.
