Eligibility Criteria:

  • By the application deadline, fellows must have three to eight years of postdoctoral research experience, excluding career pauses.
  • Candidates cannot be employed on a rolling or proleptic basis in non-profit research organisations or large universities in permanent posts.
  • The Royal Society University Research Fellowship aids in the formation of an independent research group and the achievement of independent researcher status; applicants should not have held a fellowship comparable to it in the past.
  • The domains of the Royal Society, which include the natural sciences, biological research, biomedical sciences, chemistry, engineering, mathematics, and physics, should be the focus of research.
  • Any nationality may apply, and those who need a visa may do so by using the expedited endorsement procedure for the Global Talent Visa.
  • Applications from Ireland (ROI) are funded by Science Foundation Ireland. They have to study the relevant scheme notes’ eligibility requirements.
