University of Georgia Masters Scholarship 2024 | Fully Funded

International students who meet the eligibility requirements can now apply for the University of Georgia Masters Scholarship. Graduate research assistantship recipients of the University of Georgia Masters Scholarship will earn a $24,000 annual stipend that covers tuition and extra benefits.

For the spring of 2025, the University of Georgia (UGA) Department of Geology in the Franklin College of Arts & Sciences is seeking one (1) MS student to work in the Water Resources & Remote Sensing Laboratory, which is led by Dr. Adam Milewski.

You will work with this research group to create a machine learning model for Georgia’s coastal areas, with the goal of identifying and characterizing the factors and processes that regulate oscillations in groundwater levels in coastal environments.

Furthermore, in regions where groundwater level monitoring is insufficient, you will forecast oscillations in groundwater levels and assess these forecasts using a hydrodynamic model and current in situ data.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • possess a bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering, geology, or a similar field.
  • possess a keen interest in data science and the sustainable use of water resources.
  • Be open to conducting research that goes beyond the purview of geology.
  • Possess both written and oral English proficiency.
