International students pursuing degrees or exchange programs in Estonia can receive financial assistance through the Government of Estonia Scholarship program. Selected candidates will receive a living stipend of €7,920 through this scholarship, which is financed by the Education and Youth Board and the Estonian Ministry of Education and Research.
The Estonia Degree and Exchange Scholarship takes care of all financial requirements because there is no tuition for any program offered in Estonia. Under bilateral intergovernmental or inter-ministerial agreements with other nations, the Education and Youth Board and the Ministry of Education and Research of Estonia offer scholarships to foreign nationals.
Based on these international agreements, the Government of Estonia Scholarships have been available to overseas students, researchers, and academic staff through the Estonian Scholarship Programme since 2016.
Eligibility Criteria:
Graduate Students:
- fields pertaining to the language and culture of Estonia at the undergraduate level.
- at the master’s and doctoral levels in all academic subjects.
- Students on Exchange:
- must be enrolled in a postsecondary educational program abroad.
- Up to ten calendar months of study time in Estonia are covered by the scholarship each year.
Among the nations that qualify are:
- Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Croatia, Czech Republic, Cyprus, Egypt, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Israel, Italy, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Mexico, Moldova, People’s Republic of China, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Republic of Korea, Slovenia, Spain, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Tunisia, Turkey, Ukraine, etc.

- PhD candidates: €660 a month
