‘Unacceptable’ Performance by Belgium Following Nations League Loss, Declares De Bruyne
After Belgium’s 2-0 loss to France in their Nations League match, Kevin De Bruyne didn’t hold back. De Bruyne expressed frustration at his team’s poor performance and stated that Belgium has to make major improvements in all areas. Randal Kolo Muani had given France the lead in the first half, and Ousmane Dembele scored the second as France dominated.
With only two efforts in the first half and only nine shots overall, Belgium’s reaction was inadequate. Although he declined to provide specifics to the media, De Bruyne said that he provided his squad with critical input at halftime. He stressed that Belgium needs to put in more work if they want to compete at the top level.
Even while he acknowledges that Belgium isn’t playing at its best for the 2018 World Cup, De Bruyne went on, some performances are just “unacceptable.” With France tied for third place in their Nations League group, Belgium is presently in third place.
