Heinrich Böll Foundation Scholarships 2024 in Germany

The German Heinrich Böll Foundation Scholarships for 2024–2025 are now accepting applications. International students pursuing master’s and doctoral programs, including those from Germany and the EU, are supported by these fully financed scholarships. The scholarships pay for both tuition and lodging.

Students must first be admitted to a German university that is recognized before they can apply. More than 1,000 scholarships are available from the Heinrich Böll Foundation to students who demonstrate academic excellence, a strong social conscience, and a commitment to the foundation’s ideals. This is a fantastic chance to study in Germany without having to worry about money. Make sure you go over all the information before applying.

Eligibility Criteria:

European Union Students:

  • A copy of the applicant’s bachelor’s degree certificate is required.
  • Also, they have to provide documentation of their Level B2 or DSH2 German language competency.
  • Before studies start, or at the latest, at the time of the selection interview, proof of enrollment must be turned in.

Non-EU Students:

  • A copy of the student’s bachelor’s degree certificate is required.
  • It is necessary to have proof of German language proficiency (Level B2 or DSH2).
  • Before studies start, or at the latest, during the selection interview, proof of enrollment must be provided.

Doctorate Degree Criteria:

Proof of acceptance into a PhD program at a German or state-recognized university is required of applicants.

Applications from non-German speakers must provide proof of their language skills in German.

Benefits:

EU National Students:

  • Students from the EU who have never before studied in Germany

  • Together with a monthly study cost allowance of €300, the €812 allowance may also include other benefits like health insurance, family, and kid allowances.

Non-EU Students:

  • A monthly salary of €1200 and a research allowance of €100 are provided.
  • There are also further allowances.
  • May also include health insurance or comparable benefits, family or kid allowances, and other benefits.
