On Saturday night, Russia fired 145 drones toward Ukraine—that is the most in a single evening of the conflict. Such systems comprised of Shahed drones which is a one way inexpensive short range drones that are pre-programmed to hit a target.

In total, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported nearly 850 aerial bombs, over 600 attack drones, and almost 20 missiles used by Russians in Ukraine during the week. Earlier on Sunday, the Ukrainian air defenses reportedly downed 62 of the drones. Moreover, some more Russian drones departed on Ukrainian sky towards Moldova, Belarus and Russia.

In turn, Ukraine attacked Moscow with its largest number of drones, which affected the Russian capital to a great extent. The Russian Ministry of Defense said that earlier on Sunday morning 34 Ukrainian drones attacked Moscow, however, all of them were shot down by air defenses in the Moscow region between 7 a.m. and 10 a.m. In the Ramenskoye area, drone debris led to fires and a 52-year-old woman was injured, she is in intensive care now.

The attack on Moscow temporarily forced shutdowns of flights at two of the city’s airports, including Domodedovo and Zhukovsky, for security reasons. Movement of flights was restored by 10 in the morning on Sunday. This series of drone strikes marks one of the most furious stages of drone operations in the Russian-Ukrainian war.
