Among his recent political recommendations is Florida State Senator Randy Fine, who previously made vulgar anti-Muslim and anti-Palestinian statements. On Facebook, Trump referred to Fine as an America First Patriot and promised his backing for her should she choose to contest the congressional seat.
It faced much criticism this year when it applauded the shooting death of Aysenur Ezgi Eygi, an American activist calling for the end of West Bank settlements by Israeli forces. In a message posted to the Internet today, Fine said, “Throw rocks, get shot.” One less #MuslimTerrorist.” The comment was reported as hate speech and violent by the activists and various groups inclusive of the CAIR.
Aaclually, this is not the first time for Fine making such scandalous remarks Throughout the campaign, Fine has made some provocative statements. He has often insulted Muslims, and said on more than one occasion that the U.S has a problem with Muslims and people should be afraid of the Muslim community. Fine has also accused Jews demanding Palestinian rights of being ‘Nazi collaborators’ and has also openly drums for violence against Palestinians through some social media posts.
CAIR has asked for an explanation and asked the Florida legislators to rebuke Fine for his part in fuelling division. Unfortunately, Fine’s remarks are contrary to what can be regarded as American values. His callous joy at the murder of an American by a foreign military is outrageous and shamelessly un-American,” CAIR said.
Nonetheless, Trump’s endorsement in the current election epitomizes his support of far-right and pro-Israel policies. Trump’s own history consists of a travel ban of several predominantly Muslim countries and raw Islamophobia. But he has recently moderated his language as he seeks the votes of the Arab and Muslim populations before the next presidential elections.
Randy Fine has not declared so as to stand for the Congress but he has lauded the support which has been provided by Trump terming it a biggest honor of his life. The congressional seat in question will become open soon as Mike Waltz who will resign from it to become a national security adviser in the White House.
His potential nomination and Trump’s support alert critics that candidates and far-right language and politics are intensifying and widening the social chasm. The controversy has also raised questions on how to handle the elected officials that encourage hate speech.
