Applications for the OIST Internship Program are now being accepted from eligible individuals worldwide.
Students have the opportunity to acquire specialized skills or have practical experience in a particular laboratory through the fully sponsored OIST Japan Internship 2025. The program offers lodging, airfare, stipends, and extra spending money. Interested in the OIST PhD program, individuals with a bachelor’s, master’s, or recent graduate degree can apply to be research interns.
Through short-term placements in STEM subjects, the OIST Research Internship program enables students to acquire specialized methodologies, obtain lab experience, and contribute to research under the supervision of a professor.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Must be a graduate of such institutions or be enrolled in the final two years of an undergraduate or master’s program at a university, college, junior college, or vocational school in Japan or overseas.
- must obtain their home institution’s consent.
- must possess a suitable academic background that complements the intended host unit or units at OIST.

Benefits:
- JPY 2,400 per working day (non-taxable; weekends excluded) is the internship allowance.
