Graduate and postgraduate students have a rare opportunity to demonstrate their communication abilities and earn a spot as a “Leader of Tomorrow” at the esteemed St. Gallen Symposium in Switzerland through the St. Gallen Symposium Global Essay Competition. This competition, which is open to students worldwide, brings together 600 senior leaders and 300 bright young brains to discuss cross-generational issues and consider creative solutions.
Winners will split a maximum cash reward of CHF 20,000, and the top 100 essays will receive full funding to attend the 2025 Symposium. The theme for this year is “Shifting Global Power,” and students are invited to participate in thought-provoking conversations with world leaders.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Available to all international students presently enrolled in master’s or postgraduate programs at recognized universities.
- To be eligible, participants must have been born in 1995 or later.
- Team submissions are not permitted; only single applications are accepted.
- Essays must answer the competition question in a way that is innovative, professional, and thought-provoking.
- Entries must be creative and unorthodox, with concepts developed especially for this competition.
- Essay length limitations are 2,100 words, omitting the abstract, bibliography, and footnotes.
- Submitted solely in English in order to be eligible for the “Leader of Tomorrow” contest.
- Don’t include your name, email address, or university in the submission file.
- Since there will be plagiarism checks, all sources must be properly cited.
