Eligibility Criteria:
- During the application period, candidates must be residents of a developing nation.
- A PhD degree must be held at the time of application.
- Candidates must be employed by a university or other research organization.
- Those with a university or college contract may apply, but full-time professionals are not.
- Candidates must be under 35 by the application deadline and in the early phases of their careers.
- Those who have taken a career sabbatical are eligible for up to three years of age relaxation, as long as they can present proof of the interruption.
- Candidates must already be in contact with their intended overseas collaborators for research purposes.
- Applications from female mathematicians are highly encouraged.

- In the event that guesthouses or rental apartments are not available, the grant covers lodging in the host nation, allowing stays of up to four weeks in hotels. Scholars are expected to hire a suitable apartment or guesthouse for longer periods.
