The Japan International Graduate Scholarship 2025 is currently accepting applications. The Tokyo Institute of Technology is the provider of this fully financed scholarship, which is open to students worldwide. Candidates are urged to apply if they want to study for a Master’s or PhD in Japan. The 2025–2026 school year is open to students of any nationality.
Scholarships are offered by the Tokyo Institute of Technology for postgraduate degrees in practically every academic discipline and major. All of the costs necessary to finish the degree will be covered by the scholarship. Instead of taking the IELTS or TOEFL, applicants can use an English Proficiency Certificate, and proficiency in Japanese is not required. The scholarship lasts for two years for Master’s programs and three years for PhD programs or Master’s and PhD programs combined.
Eligibility Criteria :
- Candidates must have earned a Master’s degree, which requires 16 years of study outside of Japan, or be on course to do so by the enrollment date.
- Nationality: International students from any countries with diplomatic ties to Japan are welcome.
- Candidates must be born on April 2, 1988, or later.
- Field of Study: Candidates must apply for a position in their field of study or one that is closely related.
- A bachelor’s degree is required for admission to the master’s program.
- A Master’s degree must be earned in order to enroll in a PhD program.
- Language Proficiency: Candidates who do not speak English as their first language may submit an English Proficiency Certificate from their prior institution, which will exempt them from taking language exams.
