The 2025 Mastercard TAGDev Scholarship, which aims to assist aspirant African undergraduates, is currently accepting applications. Tuition, research costs, workshop and conference fees, living expenses (including a stipend and hostel accommodations), a laptop, internship chances, and entrepreneurial training are all covered by this fully supported scholarship.
The scholarship is a component of the Transforming African Agricultural Universities to Meaningfully Contribute to Africa’s Growth and Development (TAGDev 2.0) initiative, which is administered by the Regional Universities Forum for Capacity Building in Agriculture (RUFORUM) in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation and multiple African universities. In order to empower young Africans and their institutions to promote inclusive, equitable, and climate-resilient transformation in agriculture and agrifood systems, this program seeks to fortify universities and TVET institutions.
Eligibility Criteria :
- Under the Common East Africa Higher Education Protocol, it is accessible to citizens of Uganda and East African nations (Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, and South Sudan).
- must come from underprivileged populations, be economically poor, or originate from Uganda’s conflict or post-conflict zones.
- Age restriction: Under 30 for undergraduates and under 35 for master’s degree candidates.
- Candidates seeking bachelor’s degrees must have finished secondary school or earned a diploma within the last two years (four years for internally displaced people and refugees).
- must fulfill the requirements for admission to Gulu University’s approved programs.
- ought to be very interested in entrepreneurship, agribusiness, and agriculture.
- must exhibit both a dedication to community improvement and leadership abilities.
