The AfOx Visiting Fellowship Program helps outstanding African researchers establish global connections and pursue independent research projects with Oxford-based scholars. It is provided in partnership with important partners at the University of Oxford. Fellows participate in a 12-month program through the African Oxford Initiative (AfOx), which consists of a two-month in-person residency during Oxford’s Trinity term (April to June) and 10 months of virtual engagement. Additionally, AfOx Catalyst Grants offer seed money to establish cooperative research between Oxford and African institutions. TORCH, the Oxford Department for International Development, the Pandemic Sciences Institute, the Faculty of Law, the Mathematical Institute, the Refugee Studies Center, the African Studies Center, Improving Equitable Access to Healthcare, and the Oxford Department for International Development are important partners in this project. - must be employed at an African university or research center in an African nation.
- must be a citizen of the nation in which the organization is located.

Benefits :
- Fellows will have a 12-month affiliation with the University of Oxford, which will include a two-month in-person visit in May or June (Trinity term) and ten months of virtual involvement.
- Fellows will have remote access to Oxford’s resources, such as the library and assistance in developing research leadership abilities, for the duration of the ten-month virtual engagement.
- Fellows will be given a single-occupancy, private study space for the in-person fellowship.
- In addition to temporary membership in the Senior Common Room of the host college, fellows will obtain a temporary University card that will grant them access to university and college buildings.
- A return economy ticket, airport transportation, visa costs, and a maintenance allowance for incidentals (up to £250 per week, according university regulations) are all included in the scholarship.
