Australian RMIT University Scholarship 2026 | Fully Funded

Applications for the 2026 RMIT Research Scholarships are currently being accepted from eligible and qualified applicants at RMIT University (Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology). Together with a living stipend of AUD $35,886 annually and a relocation payment of AUD $1,540, these scholarships cover all tuition costs.

Research programs will begin accepting applications in 2026.

Two categories of scholarships are offered:

  • Scholarships offered by RSS, supported by the Australian Government
  • RMIT University-funded RRSS scholarships

Participants will be automatically considered for all scholarships for which they meet the eligibility requirements if they submit a single application during one of the university’s scholarship rounds.

Eligibility Criteria :

  • must possess a bachelor’s degree with honors from at least four years of full-time study in a related discipline.
  • Additionally, a master’s degree that includes research for at least 25% of a full-time (or comparable part-time) academic year may be submitted.
  • may be regarded by RMIT as possessing comparable academic standing in light of prior coursework, employment experience, research publications, or other research-related activities.
  • A graduate research program at the same or higher level must not have been previously completed by the candidate (for example, Master by Research applicants cannot have a Master by Research or PhD).
  • must not have held a postgraduate research scholarship from RMIT or the Commonwealth before, unless it ended within six months of the fellowship’s commencement date.

Benefits :

  • AUD $35,886 stipend per year (pro rata for full-time studies)
  • Additionally, RMIT Research International Tuition Fee Scholarships (RRITFS) or RTP International Tuition Fee Offset Scholarships (RIFOS) will be awarded to international students.
  • An RTP Fee Offset Scholarship is offered to domestic students (citizens of Australia or New Zealand or permanent residents of Australia) to pay tuition costs.
  • For students who get an RTP Fee Offset, there are no tuition costs for the full program.
  • Moving expenses can be covered by a relocation payment of up to AUD $515 for adults and AUD $255 for children, up to AUD $1,540.
  • Access to paid sick leave, maternity leave, and parenting leave during the scholarship term
