Both domestic and foreign students are eligible to apply for the University of Maryland Scholarship, a fully funded graduate teaching assistantship at the MSc level.
This master’s scholarship offers health insurance, a living stipend, complete tuition reimbursement, and extra assistance with academic and research endeavors.

The goal of the research is to improve the biosecurity and health of small-flock and backyard chickens. The graduate student will oversee all of their own research initiatives, such as:
- Using Qualtrics to design surveys
- Examining survey information
- Making infographics and fact sheets
- Creating publication-ready manuscripts
Eligibility Criteria :
Undergraduate GPA: Minimum of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
English Proficiency (for international applicants applying for teaching assistant roles):
- IELTS: Overall 7 (Listening 7, Reading 7, Writing 7, Speaking 7.5)
- TOEFL iBT: Total score of 95 (Listening 24, Reading 26, Writing 24, Speaking 24)
Experience and Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in veterinary medicine, animal science, or a similar field
- Excellent undergraduate academic record
- Outstanding communication abilities both in writing and speaking
- strong project management and data organizing abilities
- Capacity to evaluate and summarize scientific literature critically
- Knowledge in working with animals, especially broiler chickens
- IT expertise or Python programming knowledge (recommended)
- Presentations at conferences or publications in peer-reviewed journals (recommended)
