Astronomers may have discovered the 9th planet of our Solar System which has been the mystery of celestial space for a long time. Because of the strange behavior of celestial bodies on the boundary of our solar system, Planet Nine has been the focus of attention.
Researchers narrowed the suggested locations from 1,000 to 200 based on data from Hawaii’s Pan-STARRS. Recent studies indicate that the energy beyond Pluto is more than moons and solar system objects with an extrasolar body.
A recent finding, which is under review by peers, suggests Planet Nine may be the Solar System’s fifth largest planet, located between Earth and Uranus. The planet circles the Sun at a distance of 500 AU (Astronomical Units), which is 75 trillion kilometers from Earth.
The Caltech co-author, Mike Brown, highlighted how Planet Nine explains the odd orbits in the outer Solar System. He said that Planet Nine is visible in many signs. Without Planet Nine, the solar system is difficult to understand.
Scientists are very eager to see the Vera Rubin Observatory scan to bring Planet Nine into prominence. Although up to 78% of the estimated territory has been cleared, there are still immense unexplored areas to be unraveled.
Even though the Planet Nine’s existence can’t be proven or denied, researchers are exploring other hypotheses to explain the outer Solar System events. The most interesting hypothesis is that of Planet Nine, which may unlock the secrets of the early history of the Milky Way galaxy.
