The Zayed Sustainability Prize 2024 is now accepting applications, giving creative thinkers a stage to present their ideas. Established in 2008, the UAE’s international prize honors global high schools, SMEs, and nonprofit organizations for their significant sustainability initiatives. Winners get considerable financing and amenities, including participation at the Awards Ceremony with flights and accommodations provided, with a total prize fund of $5.9 million. Under the direction of a committed group of people, the Prize carries on Sheikh Zayed’s environmental stewardship legacy by encouraging creative thinking towards sustainable futures.

Eligibility Criteria: Applications are being accepted for the Zayed Sustainability Prize 2024 from organizations and high schools across the globe. The requirements for eligibility differ for each category, which includes creative ideas from high school projects to cutting edge solutions in the areas of food, energy, water, and health. It is required of organizations to present scalable and effective solutions, and high schools are urged to create student-led sustainability initiatives. For consideration, candidates must be either non-profit organizations (NPOs) or small or medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The emphasis in high schools is on creative ways to deal with sustainability issues and encourage student involvement in sustainable development.

Benefits:

  • A total prize budget of USD $5.9 million is available for the Zayed Sustainability Prize, which will be split among several categories:
  • Each of the five categories—Health, Food, Energy, Water, and Climate Action—receives USD $1,000,000.
  • USD $900,000 is allotted to Global High Schools, and each of the six schools will receive up to USD $150,000.
