Junior and senior fellows have equal opportunities to engage in significant research projects through the associate fellowship program. The following are the crucial details that need to be known:
Junior Fellowships:
- This effort is designed to assist the future generation of leaders and scholars by finding and nurturing them.
- A range of in-person and online professional development programs, conferences, seminars, and other events will be available for participants to partake in.
- A master’s degree in any field, less than five years of work experience since graduation, and notable career accomplishments are prerequisites for admission to this program.
Senior Fellowships:
- This program, which aims to improve the NDC’s Research Division’s capabilities, emphasises increasing its strengths through a variety of channels, including publications, workshops, and mentorship opportunities.
- Participants must meet the following requirements in order to be eligible: they must have finished their PhD at least five years before the application year, have an impressive publishing history, and be recognized as authorities in their field.
General Requirements:
- Accessible to nationals of NATO members and partner countries.
- Junior and senior fellows will have non-residential affiliations with the NDC’s Research Division.
- Senior fellows will assist with publishing and workshop coordination, while junior fellows will participate in annual workshops and other associated activities.
Conditions:
- Non-resident fellows will be paid for their services even though they are not employed by NATO or the NATO Defence College.
- Senior fellowships last for two years and may be renewed, while junior fellowships are originally awarded for one year and may be extended.
Application Procedure:
- It is recommended that prospective candidates submit their applications to fellowships@ndc.nato.int by email.
- A one-page CV, a one-page cover letter outlining the applicant’s interests, and either a sample publication or a summary of their professional accomplishments should be included with the application for junior fellows.
