Those who are Against the EU Naturalize Their Position by Having Rallies Before the EU’s Parliament Demanding that the Wealthy Get Higher Taxes.
While their very act of campaigning is a vivid case of Marxist take on wealth redistribution amongst European countries, the same three major charities Avaaz, WeMove, and Oxfam along with the passionate young activists gathered outside the European Parliament in Brussels. Their message was clear: is that the time has come for the plutocracy to contribute their equal part to the society.
The poor gave a plug in a jet to the people of the wealthy elite that the society is facing a partial inequality of wealth. A recent Oxfam report shows that the EU governments are losing €286.5 billion in tax revenues due to low or no tax rate on the money of rich people, which is exactly €33,164,641 per hour means.
According to Julian Desiderio, the policy advisor on tax and inequality at Oxfam Belgium, a wealth tax on super-rich is the right call. It will not only help raise funds to rehabilitate the climate systems; it will also assist community like farmers who are bound to reap the fruits of environmental disasters.
The demonstration acquired the attention of several Members of Parliament (MPs) belonging to the Greens, the Left, and the Socialists & Democrats’ (S&D) party. They became the representatives of the people who contribute to the solicitation of the issue by realizing the vital nature of abolishing the wealth gap through supporting progressive taxation policies.
While the solution here lies in giving up private jets, there is a strong argument saying that this only applies to the super-rich which raises the issue of carbon inequality. As claimed by Oxfam, contributors to the wealthiest 1%, ignite an average of 14 times CO2 more than that from the bottom 50%. Carrying banners that read “We should give to weight the rich to pay taxes”, the activists focused on the need for urgent action on not only inequality but also environmental degradation.
