Women Deliver’s two-year Emerging Leaders for Change Program is designed to develop committed youth activists in East Africa via a life-changing experience. In order to advance their advocacy efforts, participants in this initiative are given access to vital resources, networks, venues, and training opportunities. Strongly dedicated to sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) as well as gender equality, Women Deliver has a strong history of inclusively incorporating young people in leadership roles.
Who Can Submit an application? Applications are welcome from youth, aged 15 to 29, regardless of gender or sexual orientation, who live and work in Burundi ๐ง๐ฎ, Ethiopia ๐ช๐น, Kenya ๐ฐ๐ช, Rwanda ๐ท๐ผ, Tanzania ๐น๐ฟ, or Uganda ๐ป๐ฌ. Potential candidates ought to support causes related to SRHR and/or gender equality, with an emphasis on tackling issues that adolescent girls in their communitiesโ experience. Those with an interest or background in combating the anti-rights movement, mitigating the effects of climate change, or promoting universal health coverage will be given preference.

Eligibility Criteria:
- Residency: Candidates must live in and advocate from one of the approved East African countries.
- Age Requirement: As on October 1, 2024, applicants must be between the ages of 15 and 29. Minors require parental approval.
- Gender Inclusivity: People of all gender identities and sexual orientations are welcome to participate in the program, but those who identify as girls, women, or non-binary will receive special consideration.
- Focus of Advocacy: Candidates should support causes pertaining to gender equality and/or sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), with a particular focus on problems impacting teenage girls in their communities.
